EyeToy VS Live Vision VS Wii
One Of The Main Reasons I Made This Blog Is Because I Want More People To Know About The Different Video Games..
One Of Those 'Different' Video Games Is EyeToy, A Game Franchise I'm A Really Big Fan For, I'm The Only One Out There..
Being A Rather Hard-Core EyeToy Fan, I Need To Help Spread Word About The EyeToy Capabilities..
So, Natrually, When I Saw A Digg About The 360 Live Vision Cam Tech Demos, I Was Pissed To See People Suprised About It And Were A Bit Lowly To EyeToy..

Now, If You Remember, I Had Done A Post A Long While Back About Tech Demos For The EyeToy That's JUST LIKE THIS.. None Of This Is New..
Just A Small Rant..
In Blog-Update News, I Have Some Planned Articles For This And My Other List Of Growing Blogs.. But As A Sony Gamer Advisory Pannel Member, I Will Post Those Articles There Before It Reaches Here.. That Isn't Really All New, I've Done That For Many Articles In The Past..

Here I Am (with my sega saturn shirt) Playing A Little Demo Of The 'Sega Superstars' Game For The PS2, Obviously, Using The Eyetoy Camera..
Compared To The Wii, This One Is More Of A Workout..

EyeToy Bits, PS3, 3rd Eye Interfaces
http://www.us.playstation.com/PS2/Games/SCUS-97498
And Now, A Little Bit On The PS3 Vs. Third Eye Interfaces..
(originally posted on the scea's gamer advisory board)
People Think Many Thoughts About The PS3 Controller, Think It's Good, It Sucks, Ripping Off A Certain Other Company, Just Brining Back And Old Idea..
well, When I 1st Saw The PS3 Controller In Action, My 1st Initial Thought Was This: Third Eye Interfaces Needs To Move On..
What Is 3rd Eye Interfaces?
http://www.thirdeyeinterfaces.com/
Using Lenticular Cards ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lenticular ) And The EyeToy Camera, It Can Recognize The Your PS2's Controller Movement..
http://www.thirdeyeinterfaces.com/media/thirdeye_mov.html
(warning: very slow during the 1st half of film)
Granted, You'll Need A Lot Of Light (like every eyetoy game), Add This Big Card Thing To Your Controller, And A Little Limited.. But It's One Very Interesting Idea..
However, Sony Had Introduced Their 6-Way 3D Control Not Too Long Ago, Which Requires Less Than 3rd Eye's Idea, But A Bit More Pricey.. Not To Mention Other Advantages (no eyetoy needed, can be played in the dark, no attachments required) That Factored In To Killing Third Eye Solutions..
well, Not Quite.. TEI Is Now Aiming For The 360, Being That It Has A Camera And Doesn't Have A Motion-Sensitive Controller..
But Just Imagine If Third Eye Actually Got Out..
You Can Tilt And Spin The Controller, Move It Around 3D Space (left, right, up, down vs ps3's up and down), Including Forward And Backward (the current eyetoy can actually know how close or far an item is), Making It Work Practically Like, oh, Nintendo's Wii Controller, For Cheap!
But What Do You Think? Who Is The Better One In The End: PS3 Controller, Or Third Eye Interfaces? What Do You Think Of TEI? Would You Want To Play Using It? Anything Else? I Want To See What You Think...

Revolution Evolution
It's 'Wii', As In 'We', Like 'We Can All Play Along'..
A Huge Surprise For All, But I Know It Will Be Getting Some Used Too, I Mean, We Had Some Strange Names Out There, Like TiVo, Go Daddy, Countless Web 2.0 Sites, Including Google..
But We've Gotten Used To It..
And On Wired, Somebody Pointed Out This Nice Point:
No Confusion..
Game Store Employees Always Get The Questions Of A 'PlayCube', Or A 'Playstation 360', And 'Mario On Xbox'..
Wii Is Simple, And Different, Once People Know What Wii Is, The Would Most Likely Know What It Is Forever, Not Confusing It With The Sony Or Microsoft..
But What Was My Reaction?
'Why?'
I Was Confused, I Wanted Something Catchy, Something That Can Just Tell What It Is Based Off What It Says.. then again, You Never Got An Actual Saturn On Sega Saturn, But You Got Imagery, You Hear DreamCast, An Image Comes To Minds, Because You Know What Dream Means, And For PlayStation, You Know It's A Station Of Playing..
Wii? What The Hell Is Wii?
People Won't Think It's 'We', But 'Wee', As In Urine, Or Could Mistaken The pronunciation And Say 'Why'..
But 'Wii' Can Be Made Of Other Things, Like 'WiFi' Without The 'F', And For Sure, Wifi Will Be Huge On Wii..
Also, The Wii Is Wee, As In Small, I Mean, (they have once said before) 3 DVD Cases! That Big! It's Wee Small!
I'm Not A Huge Fan Of It, But We Will Have To Make Something Out Of It And, Ultimately, Get Used To It..
So I Did An Exercise To Get Used To It: Make A Wii..
I'm Still Not Used To It, But I Sure Made A Hell Of A Model Out Of 'Google SketchUp'..
CHECK IT OUT!

The Remote Didn't Make Out Too Well, But The System Itself Did!

Anyways, Good Luck Nintendo, You're Going To Need It..
well, Maybe Not..
I Mean, People Were Shocked With The Controller Way Back Then, Saying Nintendo Is Going To Die.. Now, People Are Interested In It..
Could It Be The Same For The Name?
One Thing Is Certain: Nintendo's Got Balls..
Good Night Everyone..

EyeToy: What's Not Selling?
I Had Faith In The EyeToy Ever Since I Saw It’s Concept, I Always Saw Potential In It, But Sales Wise, well, I Don’t See It In Many Homes..
Why Isn’t The EyeToy Selling, I Mean, Specifically, In The
Ok, Let’s See How EyeToy Compares From The
Go To EyeToy.Com, You Find A Fancy Flash Page With Many Links, See The ‘English’ Panel, Clicking The UK Flag (and skipping the warning) Gets You To Another Nice And Fancy Page Full Of Other Games, Downloads, And A Special Contest For ‘Club EyeToy’ Members.. If You Even Wait A Bit, A Nice Little ‘Happy Spring’ Egg Floats Down.
Ok, Now Go Back To EyeToy.Com And Click The
Ok, Let’s Look At The ‘REAL’ EyeToy Games (‘real’ as in a eyetoy-only game) Made Here In The
let’s see, Ok, Good Old Harmonix Made The Cool Hoverboard Game ‘EyeToy Antigrav’, And, well, THQ Made ‘Nicktoons Movin’ ’, And I Guess ‘EyeToy Kinetic’ Was Made Here With Nike Motionworks..
In The UK, well, SCEE’s London Studio Makes Just About All The 1st Party EyeToy Games, Those Of Which Are EyeToy Play, Play 2, Play 3 (which is not yet out here, but has been in europe since around december of last year), Groove, Chat (also not available here yet), And SpyToy (renamed eyetoy: operation spy in the us, maybe because europe already knows about the eyetoy while the we don’t).
But That’s Not All, There Are A Number Of 3rd Party, a number of which are quite forgettable, Like Clumsy Shumsy, Yeti Sports Artic Adventures, And Rhythmic Star (not all sure if that’s japan or not, and no, we’re not going into the state of eyetoy in japan, they seem to be kinda good with it)
So, Support For EyeToy By SCEE, 2, SCEA, .5, Or Less..
Ok, So We See That Our Own SCEA Doesn’t Support The EyeToy, Let Alone Make US Developers To Support It In Innovative Ways Other Than Imposing Your Image In-Game Using EyeToy Cameo (which also was developed in europe, mind you)..
Well, EA Tried A Bit And Did Some Minigames In ‘Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban’, I Applaud EA For An Attempt..
But The Question Is: Is The Lack Of Support That SCEA Gives Really Effect The Consumers Choice Of Purchase?
Let’s See What SCEA Did To Show Off EyeToy Games To The Public, Let’s Start With The Ads..
Chances Are That You Passed By An EyeToy Commercial On TV, But Most Likely, You Didn’t. I Wasn’t Even Aware That There Were EyeToy Play (original) Commercials For The US. Now, Compare The Number Of Times You Seen An EyeToy Commercial To The Times You Seen, oh, Tourist Trophy Or Ratchet And Clank, Jak Maybe.. Very Little To None..
Ok, Print Ads, I Bet You And I Seen Them In Issues Of EGM Or OPM, Namely, EyeToy Antigrav. But These Ads Have Also Been Seen In Children’s Magazines. Does SCEA Think EyeToy Is For Kids?
That’s What I’m Thinking, I Mean, Go Back To The European EyeToy Site And Notice The Different Ages Of The People Playing EyeToy Games, There’s Young Ones, Older Ones, Even Grandparents In The Screen Shots. Wait, Better Yet, Check Out The European Box For EyeToy Play 2, You Notice That There’s 2 People In Maybe Their 20s ‘Playing’ The Game..
Ok, Look At The American Box For EyeToy Play 2, Children, There’s Kids Seen ‘Playing’ On The Play 2 Box.. Does SCEA Really Think EyeToy Is For Kids?
And Do Kids Really Care? I Mean, I’ve Seen Kids Go Crazy And Bang Away On The Bongo Drums That Used To Be At GameCube Kiosks, But At The Playstation Kiosk, well, No..
Ok, Let’s Broaden This Out, Who Actually Seen Anyone Play EyeToy Demos At A Playstation 2 Kiosk? And Do These Demos Actually Help People Consider The Purchase Of An EyeToy Game?
Where I Am, It’s A Sure Rare Sight For Me To Go Into A Game Store And Find Someone Trying An EyeToy Demo, Most Likely, There’s On The Kiosk To Play Something Else With What They’re Familiar With: A Controller..
That’s The Other Thing: Do People Really Want To ‘Get-Up-And-Play’? well, A Number People Rather Get Up And Play On A Guitar Hero Controller, Many On A DDR Mat, Few For An EyeToy Camera.. Is It Too Hard For A Person To Play An EyeToy Game? Or Are EyeToy Games Just Not That Solid? (most likely the case, hopefully, that all changes)
So, What Am I Getting At? Well, This Is Just A Sort Of An Open Letter To Sony Computer Entertainment of America And A Realization To Many About The Support For EyeToy And To Hopefully Get It Out More And Make Something Out Of It. I Mean, Developers Have Been Fascinating About The Nintendo Revolution’s Controller And What They Can Do With It, well, What About The EyeToy? It Very Well Has Expansive Possibilities And Probably More Functions Than The Revolution, The Developers Are Just Not Thinking It.
So What I’m Hoping For In The US Is A More Spread-Word About EyeToy And More Developer Support At E3 And By The End Of This Year.
If That Ever Were To Be, well, Who Knows What Could Happen, Nation Wide Realization That Video Games Are Not All Violent And Such, I Don’t Know, But I Could Dream, Can’t I?
